Our Savior Lutheran Church is an active, welcoming faith community. We have fellowship opportunities for people of all ages . We are united by our faith in God, and by our sense of community as believers and neighbors. We aspire to become better people, to build community in our church and in our community, and to serve as a beacon of God's love here in Naples, Florida.
Our Savior Lutheran Church is comprised of sincere, involved Christians who believe that the Bible is the true Word of God. The Bible teaches us that God alone offers salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. The Word offers spiritual guidance and instruction so we are committed to Biblical teaching and Christian living. Our Savior Lutheran Church relies on the Bible for its worship, classrooms and counseling. We invite you to come and hear about God's plan for your life!

Pastor Schmidt
Pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church since July, 2002
Pastor Schmidt was born on August 13, 1971 in Cottonwood, Minnesota. He was christened Gregory Harstad Schmidt on September 19th of that same year. He attended public schools all the way through high school. In 1992 he graduated from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota. For his junior year in college he attended the Institute for German Studies in Bemidji, Minnesota.
In 1994 Pastor Schmidt received his B.A. in German from Concordia Moorhead University in Moorhead, Minnesota. His seminary training began in 1998. He attended Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary in Mankato, Minnesota.
For his year-long vicarage he was assigned to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Naples, Florida. After graduating from the seminary in 2002 he received and accepted his first call to be the pastor of Our Savior in Naples, Florida.
Rev. Schmidt was married to Julia Tweit on July 22, 2000. Since then, they have been blessed with five beautiful children.
Vicar Caleb Helmen

Caleb Helmen was born to Tim and Lori Helmen and was raised in Minneapolis. He was homeschooled throughout his childhood. During high school, he enrolled in PSEO courses through the University of Northwestern-St. Paul, Concordia University-St. Paul, and North Central University.
He enrolled at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN in the Fall of 2015 and graduated with a B.A. in Sociology as well as minors in both Communication and Philosophy. On Bethany’s speech team he met Emily, his debate partner, whom he married in July of 2020.
He enrolled at Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary in 2019. In May of 2022, he was assigned to serve as vicar at Our Savior Lutheran Church. He and his wife are excited to live in and explore the Naples area, and he looks forward to serving at Our Savior as he continues to be trained in the work of a pastor.
